@Doggonnys hen start with a basic drum beat and go from there
firstly, get familiar with the instrument and/or program, then play around with it, *try* to make your songs sound like your favourite ones, experiment a lot and, you WILL get better! generally (utmost important) - just have fun! I'd also suggest, if you're gonna use a program (called DAW fyi), to not just go and buy all the expensive sounds and software, and try to stick with the basics. doing that will teach you how to make a song sound the way you want to. Me, after 5 years, still using the stock sounds is another thing xD also, however melodic your style is, i'd still suggest you to get to know some basic music theory. good luck!

Okay as a piano player and recorder player, if you want to make music you would need to search up how to play certain instruments. Like search up a music YouTuber that does tutorials on how to play a certain instrument you want to play because with this you can learn a lot on how to play instruments. Also read up on the instruments that you would want to play. Because getting information on the instrument that you would want to play is key because you don’t want to play an instrument blindly! Hope this helps!
yo at first i wanted to make all the music of my animations, did buy a guitar, tried to learn how to play it as well play bass (the guitar with low sound and some edit) as well did learn how to program drums on lmms. But i sucked on everything lol, it was very hard to make simple music it took a lot of time, i recorded as a test some cover of napalm death, mortician, blasphemy and gut (bands with very easy music to play), but it sounded terrible specially while trying to mix the instruments together.
So i did prefer to listen to copyright free and creative commons music, there are thousands of thousands of them out there, on youtube, freemusicarchive. com, here at newgrounds and other places. It was way better
